Slovenia to Austria for a hike

Getting a taxi for an early train from Maribor sure was pleasant, with Baspie dog getting a few extra zzz in on my ankle.

Swanky international train.

The second time on a train to Vienna but again getting off sooner, this time in Graz.

At Graz we dumped most of our stuff at the station
Caught a local train to Mixnitz on which the conductor sold us a dog ticket and agreed Baspie wouldn’t need a muzzle
Up to the Dragon Hole, as the waterfall hike was closed by rockfalls
Baspie can smell the ibex when the wind blows right, but he can’t see him
The dragon hole, home to thousands of bats and a former underground river.
Pretty valley
Platform sunbathing after a tough hike

Use the on platform machines to buy dog tickets (with or without human tickets) for any Austrian journey, valid same day or next day. You need to buy a dog train ticket in Austria if your dog isn’t in a container. In theory you need a muzzle too.

First choose the journey
Then add a dog and remove an adult (if you already have a human ticket, such as Interrail or other pass)
Valid 24 hours, and seems to be a standard price, same from Graz to Bratislava as a couple of stops on a local train.
And off you go

We headed back to Graz for the night.
